These are my comments and errata regarding the Star Wars Saga Core Rulebook which are NOT covered by the official errata (as of Oct. 21, 2008) and are present in both the first as well as the second printing of the Star Wars Saga Core Rulebook.
I am currently also working on a list of all changes from the first to the second printing of this book; this list, when finished, will be released in a seperate post in this blog.
This post may not be exhaustive and is therefore subject to change. All of this is inofficial, of course.
Messing with Terms "Ability Adjustments" and "Ability Modifiers"
At several passages in the book, the term "Ability Modifier" (as explained on page 17) is used where "Ability Adjustment" (as explained on page 22) is meant:
- p. 24-33: For every species except Human, there is a line called "Ability Modifiers" at the species traits section. However, for a character originating from one of those species, the bonuses and penalties listed there are not the ability modifiers, but the ability adjustments.
- p. 186: Table 11-1, blocks "Degree" (second paragraph) and "Size" (second paragraph and paragraph "Small")
- p. 187: Table 11-2, paragraph "Abilities"
p. 15 – Select Skills
The bonus trained skill for Humans (see page 23) is not mentioned here, but the Humans' bonus feat is mentioned at the "Select Feats" section.
After the third sentence in the second paragraph, insert:
"In addition, if you are playing a Human, you get an extra trained skill, which also has to be selected from your list of class skills."
p. 17 – Ability Modifiers
"Each ability, after changes made because of species, has a -5 to +5 modifier."
This is wrong, as a new generated Wookie (Wookies have Strength adjustment +4) can have a maximum Strength of 22, which would give a Strength modifier of +6.
Accordingly, it should read "[...], has a -5 to +6 modifier."
p. 40 – Adept Negotiator
Replace "highter" with "higher".
p. 45 – Adept Negotiator
Mistake? "a adventurous scoundrel"; "an" instead of "a"
p. 58 – Using Skills
Replace "Table 4-4: Skills" with "Table 4-2: Skills".
p. 58 – Making Skill Checks
Replace "as a DC of 15" with "has a DC of 15".
p. 186 – Determining Ability Score (for Droid heroes)
Droid characters have no Constitution score. Thus, a droid player character by default has only 21 points (instead of 25) to spend for planned generation. Albeit, the given standard score package for droid heroes is worth 25 points, which is obviously inbalanced compared to the planned generation of droid PCs. Instead of "15, 14, 13, 12, 10", I suggest "15, 14, 13, 10, 8" or "15, 14, 12, 10, 9" as the standard score package for droid heroes.

p. 246 – Ending Things
Replace "ad-venture" with "adventure".
